Charlie’s White Paper

I made the trip to Durham this week.I was up for a few meetings for work and got the chance to visit old friends.

It was lovely to visit the old place: to go for coffee at Vennel’s, to visit St Oswald’s institute and stroll on Palace Green.

I even got the chance to visit the CAMEO club and spend some time with some of the guys from Bethany.

On the Monday and Tuesday evenings, I attended two Bethany Church events with Tony Campolo.

He spoke really powerfully about the role of the church in transforming the world. That we are God’s instrument to change the world, through His spirit working in us.

I was also really struck as he pointed out how easily we end up creating God in our own image. In the West, so often God can end up as an wealthy, educated, white man.

We need to destroy this false idol and seek after the Biblical God.
