God Is Not Great: Why Religion Poisons Everything by Christopher Hitchens

Written by Charlie Styles on February 4, 2008 – 12:31 am

This book is a rant. It is an undisguised polemic against religion and religious people. The tone is arrogant and many of the comments are bare-faced insults to people of faith. New Emmanuel Website

Written by Charlie Styles on January 27, 2008 – 7:11 pm

This week I finished the new look website for Emmanuel Church Bramcote. The new site happily coincides with the church’s first anniversary. Sophie and I still see it very much as our church, despite the fact that we’re not often there, though we did make it for the party.

Graham Beynon of Avenue Community Church spoke at the birthday party. You can find the talk here. He preached the truth about what Christ has done for those who put their trust in him, and urged us to follow his example of love.

The website had taken a while, and I’m sure I’ll keep fiddling with it, but it looks ok. It has support for podcasting, blogging and I hope to develop a members’ section for rotas etc.

If you’re a church or Christian organisation and need a website, please get in touch. (I could do professionals too, I guess)
